Oxjam is back at Carlisle’s Old Fire Station for another evening of quality live music, all in support of an exceptional cause. The line-up for the October event is as follows:

Kontiki Suite - Cosmic Americana influenced four piece, with a funky, effortless rhythms and country tinged twin guitars. Kontiki Suite are well known on the Carlisle scene for their laid back style, though newer material has taken on a harder edge. The band have released two albums to date and both received widespread acclaim.

The Unsung - sharp, spiky pop rock, with intelligent and intense vocals taking influence from both New Wave acts and more classic pop-rock bands such as Fleetwood Mac. The band’s debut album, 1000 Yard Stare, ...was released in the spring and the band have had an active summer, including performances at Kendal Calling and Solfest.

Blind Fiction - alternative poppy rock with a surf twist; Blind Fiction have been very active over the Cumbria circuit, playing their driving rhythmic take on modern rock. The band’s debut EP, The Post-Truth was released in March 2016.

Ogres of Go-Go - psychedelic rockers, featuring dual frontmen battling for attention, while a solid backline holds everything together. The Ogres have a yet to be titled EP due to hit the shelves later in the year.

There will also be a pop-up Oxfam shop, selling a selection of records, CDs and books.

Tickets are £5 and are be available online (Skiddle link below), from the Bank Street Shop, the Old Fire Station and any of the bands.

Music from 8pm.

All proceeds go towards Oxfam, a global movement of millions of people who share the belief that, in a world rich in resources, poverty isn’t inevitable.
