Inspired by Ewan MacColl’s anthemic song of love & hope , Dirty Old Town Festival is a celebration of Salford’s influence on British popular culture .

Salford has a deep cultural history that is unique and been shaped as communities have evolved and changed. Its influences have impacted modern British culture through film , music & theatre .

Featuring  Music , Film , Theatre , Drama , Comedy & Poetry the event will showcase talented people who live , work or study in Salford and how the ‘Dirty Old Town’ creatively inspires diverse communities to engage with arts & culture .

The festival aims to raise awareness of Salford’s cultural significance and raise money for Oxfam & Kidscan Childrens Cancer research charity with all proceeds being donated .

Hosted at  Atmosphere Bar & Salford University House on Friday May 12th 2017 , the festival opens to the public from 3pm - 11pm.
